Back Story
Acidophilus Prime is an agricultural planet in the Acidophilus Star System. The planet rotates around its star once every week, which means that the planet’s seasons are accelerated. Specially-developed RandoRoot Seeds enable farmers to grow complete crops every week instead of every year. While this sounds wonderful, there is one serious drawback: SciBots have not yet been able to determine what kind of crop will grow from their special seeds. It is a completely random process that yields unexpected results.
The planet surface is very Earth-like, comprised of ocean and approximately 35% landmass. It is tectonically active, and most of the continents lie in an equatorial ring whose fringes lie in more temperate zones. Nearly 99% of the planet's land has been terraformed to create tightly-controlled regions of agricultural industry, each tailored to specific crops. Most of the farming is done by FarmBots who pilot sail-like farming machines. Inhabitable structures are called co-ops, where migrant farmers can live while they tend their shared plots, and crops are harvested and prepared for shipment to distribution centres throughout the Galaxy.
